Scrapping Outback - February

"White with a Twist" challenge

White with Lavender/Lilac and Kraft/Brown

 Space to Roam
This is my first time entering the Scrapping Outback challenges. I just love the colour combination they have chosen for this month. I also loved the white/black/gold combo from December...but alas I ran out of time...

The background - purple shimmer paste using a damask stencil, purple mist, copper pearl radiant gel using a mini floral stencil, grit paste using a chicken wire stencil, bronze gilders paste.
The chipboard - painted with gesso; the floral piece I painted with a purple watercolour, adding some additional chippie flowers that I wet and then separated into two thinner pieces; the bare trees I left white.
Ebellishments - washi tape, wood veneer, dry wall tape, sequin bow and various flowers.
Thank you to Rachelle and the team at Scrapping Outback, it was a fun challenge and I am really happy with my finished layout.

Scrapping Clearly Scrapbooking and Papercrafts - February

Scrapping Clearly - Moodboard challenge

My first time entering a Scrapping Clearly challenge. I loved the interesting colour mix on the moodboard.

Enjoy

My layout has mostly incorporated the apricot, taupe and dark magenta...although on screen my 'purples' look quite different to in real life. The starbursts are actually a beautiful magenta texture past.
My inspiration also comes from the text; swim in the sea and go on roadtrips; the flowers; and golden colouring of the flowers, which I have tweaked to metallic gold.
A fun moodboard, thank you to Kylie and the team
at Scrapping Clearly.

D-Lish Scraps - February

D-Lish Scraps - Fresh Cut

Pretty - one of my favourites

Well...this is very green! I did find the green/yellow combo quite challenging, firstly finding an appropriate photo...and I don't usually scrap with yellow very often.
I have rotated the sketch to suit my photo, and have used coloured texture paste instead of different paper. Thank goodness for the JAP kit and the D-Lish Scraps online store; they supplied most of the embellishments used on this page.
Thank you to Amanda and the team at D-Lish Scraps for another fun and challenging inspirationboard.

White..with 1 - February

WW1 - Blue Jeans
An optional extra...combine with this sketch.

Journey

I wanted to use the sketch for this layout, but I still wanted to retain the mostly white feel to the page. So instead of using coloured paper for the bottom section, I used white texture paste which I smudged with darker blue ink. Similarly I used white textured vellum with inked edges for under the title/journalling, a white cheesecloth strip and a white doily misted with dark blue.
I have created a page with much more white than I would normally do, which is the beauty of challenges and sketches...thinking outside your norm. Thank you to Jane and the team at WW1.

Kraft Plus - February challenge

Coastal Chic

Meeting the Daleks
at Comic Con 2014

I love the colours of the Coastal Chic moodboard, but I have gone with a non-beachy layout. I have kept the background fairly simple; some mist and stamping. I used a clock stamp, to tie in with the theme of Dalek's being time travellers.
Embellishments include: metal flowers, denim flowers, enamel dots, washers - pre-rusted from the shed, some chipboard flourishes, washi tape and some jute braid.
Thanks to Sandra and the Kraft Plus team for putting together such a lovely moodboard and challenge.

Off the Rails Scrapbooking - February challenge

A lovely moodboard with a valentine's influence. I was inspired by the colour red, the hearts and the elements of a formal outing.

Beautiful moments last forever

Another photo taken on the day of Kenzie's year 12 formal. I love scrapping these photos, it was such a wonderful day.

For this layout I have used gold crackle texture paste, metal embellishments - flowers and butterflies, some Bo Bunny film strip, resin and wooden hearts, an assortment of flowers and some chipboard hearts. The title is from Scrapmatts.

A2Z Scraplets Papercraft - February Challenge

Scrap your world

Beautiful Spring Blossoms

This is my first time entering the A2Z Scraplets challenges.
The A2Z chipboard pieces I have inked in dark moss, and coated them with Shimmerz Texturez using a palette knife.

Scrapbookit - February challenge

Sketch challenge - with a touch of gold, washi tape and a song title!
School's Out
This is my first time entering the Scrapbookit challenge.
It was an interesting twist to use a sketch and to have to include the extras.

This photo was taken on the day of my daughter's year 12 formal. A group of her friends were having some photos taken prior to a 'limo' ride to the venue. After posing for quite a few formal photos, the photographer asked for a 'fun' pose, and this was the result. Being a Alice Cooper fan for many years, I thought the "School's Out" song title was perfect for this layout.

My gold elements include gold crackle texture paste in the background, some gold washi tape, glitter gold enamel dots and a clear acrylic gold xoxo. I used lots of different washi tapes, in random strips, to form the L shape of the sketch.

This was a fun challenge and I am very pleased with the page I have created.
